How to Order a Skip

Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQs)

  • How do I order a Skip?
Very Simple. Just give us a call and we can advise you of the most suitable requirement to suit your needs. We will ask you a few questions to clarify what we think is best for you. We can advise  you about Skip Hire Sizes, ask you for your contact details, the address for delivery, how much it costs, and when you would like to take delivery of your skip. There you go - no worries - simple as that ! And we are here at the end of the phone to answer any queries you have.

  • How long do I have the skip for hire?
The standard Skip Hire period is 3 days. If you need the skip for longer, please call us by phone so that we can arrange this for you

  • What size skip do I need?
Just imagine you've invited family and friends over for dinner. Well, it's not unlike hiring a skip! You can be sure you will need more than you thought. It is much better to allow for a little more than you expected so you get the job done properly and keep everyone happy. Have a look at our List of Skip Sizes to help you choose your skip. Remember, don't hesitate to call us if you have any questions.
  • Can you give me an exact time for delivery of my Skip?
We try our best to give an accurate time slot so you know when you Skip is arriving. We normally give 2- hour time slots for the morning and the afternoon deliveries - say between 9:00am - 11:00am or between 2:00pm - 4:00pm. If you need a phone call or a text to advise you when we are on our way - no problem, just make sure you let us know when the skip is delivered and we will try and do that for you. Sometimes same day delivery is possible, please phone us directly and we will try and facilitate your request if possible.
  • How high can I fill my skip?
All our Skips have a 'max fill line' clearly indicated on its side. If the skip is filled above this point it cannot be collected for safety reasons and the driver will ask you to remove some material before he can load the skip. Please do not overload the skip.

Remember to give some thought as to how you will fill your skip. Place the larger items carefully so that you avoid creating unfilled spaces that stop you getting the most out of your Skip Hire.
  • I need to organise Skip Hire on a regular basis, can I set up an account to do this?
Yes, just contact us directly and we would be delighted to give you a quote for regular skip hire.
  • How quickly can a skip be delivered?
We commit to service every order within 24 hours or at the time specified by our customer.  We try to get our customers to give us a 2 hour window for delivery, for example, between 9.00am & 11.00am or 12.00 & 2.00pm.  You can request that the driver gives you a phone call when your skip is about to be dispatched; this is usually the most convenient solution for customers.  Sometimes same day delivery is possible, please ask & we will try to facilitate your request when possible.
  • Can I have the Skip placed on my Driveway or in my Garden?
In most cases the Mini, Midi or Standard Skip will fit on a driveway or in to a garden. However, the important thing to consider is the entrance to the driveway / garden or the distance between the pillars. We recommend an opening between 9 & 10 feet to safely allow the truck access because in all cases the truck is wider than the skip being delivered.
  • Do I need a parking permit to place a skip on the roadside?
If you live in an area where there are parking restrictions outside your property or you would like to place a skip in such an area, then you must contact your local authority in order to obtain a parking permit. If you have any questions whatsoever, please phone Quick Move Waste directly and we will be delighted to assist you.
  • How much does it Cost?
Ask any of our customers about our prices - It's one reason why we have been around for almost 30 years now ! WE give the best value for money. We are not dodging the issue - but phoning us directly is best. The price depends on the skip size, where you live, There a number of variables that effect our prices on a week-to-week basis. Be assured that we will give you the best value for money.
